From a purely political perspective (I know we'll disagree on the ideological perspective), this is a pretty great ad.
Will really resonate with the Conservative base and indepenents I'd imagine...

I think this is more a base ad, rather than for independents -- but then again, I'm very skeptical of the notion of independents. I think a fair amount of research has been published recently that shows independents like to think of themselves as free political agents, but usually bat for one side or the other.
ReplyDeleteThe importance of political parties has no doubt declined since the days turkeys were handed out each Christmas, but ideologies have not -- and I just don't buy that people float between the two. Thoughts?
I'm pretty sympathetic to that, but I think there are degrees of rigidity in ideology.
ReplyDeleteWe humans are complex beings full of contradictions. Some people tolerate more contradictions than others, for a variety of reasons.
Independents are made up of those people, and also people who instinctively reject lockstep partisanship.
