And also from that website...

There was this piece which is also critical of media coverage of the event (on both sides). And also talks a bit about muslim opinion on Cordoba's building.

Link here.

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you for linking to that piece.

I started writing a blog post who’s main idea was the dearth of opinion pieces written by Muslims on the subject of building the Cordoba House near Ground Zero. I scrapped it as soon as I finished reading that link.

Per usual, I’m not getting any real analysis on the Cordoba House argument from my media sources. It’s the same shit: one side pits the other as bigoted ignoramuses while the other side characterizes their opponents as dangerous and unpatriotic.

So guess what New York Times? I give a fuck what Frank Rich, Tom Friedman, Nick Kristoff, and the rest of the usual suspects think about this issue. Same goes for you WaPo: Cohen, Robinson, and the rest give me only boilerplate responses with the same tired arguments to an issue that isn’t so black-and-white.

As a supporter of the mosque being built there, my mind has been already made up. It’s about first principles for me. But I sympathize with those who oppose building the mosque. And I think some opponents of the Cordoba House make reasonable arguments.

I just want hear what Muslims think about this issue. Is this too much to ask?
